Please help fight pet theft. There are bunchers who are licensed by the USDA who gather pets from "random sources", who can steal pets from the streets, from yards, from "free to good home" ads in the paper (and this is theft by deception) and from your vehicles if your dogs are left inside when you go to buy a gallon of milk. They can then sell your dog or cat to a Class B dealer, who can then sell your dog or cat to research labs, auctions, puppy mills and to those who would use your dog or cat for dog fighting. To learn more about how to help in the fight against pet theft, please go to the Last Chance for Animals website at http://www.lcanimal.org Please, never turn your back on your dog. Pet Theft only takes a few seconds to happen and it changes your life, and the life of your beloved pet, forever.

My Samoyed pup was lost/stolen before Christmas 2001 from the San Diego area. It is nightmarish to consider what evil people are capable of doing. Are there any documented studies or reports on this kind of activity. Before losing my dog I was unaware of this crime. Is there any kind of activist's group to join to bring this to the media's attention? I would be happy to participate & bring the info to local TV news stations. By the way, has anyone come across a large, beautiful 1 year old Samoyed (name Nikita, all white, very playful & energetic, kind of looks like a wolf)I'm offering a $250.00 reward.(619)276-6433 E mail-ANNIE_PIE@yahoo.com

When I read this thread, I just had to copy and paste the below message I had just left on a different thread... Thanks... Wen : ) HI.. I can't help but read some of these messages and not say something about 'pet microchipping'. I work in a Humane Society Shelter in No Florida, one of the few where every pet adopted out is microchipped. Recently, while doing a presentation for a local community organization, I mentioned that our shelter, as a public service, perform microchipping for a small fee for each privately-owned animal. A couple of days after the presentation, along with a thank-you letter, a representative sent along two news clippings about a dog that had been missing from No Florida for 11 years. This dog was recently found in a campground in one of the northern states and taken to a veteranarian who had a microchipping scanner. Years back, the dog had been microchipped; the National Registry (and I believe Canada may be a part of the Registry as well) was contacted and searched and the dog and original owner were reunited after over a decade! A collar and tag can be removed, even a tattoo will fade or can be covered over... but the microchipping technology seems to be the best way to keep track of your pet. Even the most predictable pets can be lost or stolen. We can help to keep our pets safe and sound. Check out your local shelter to see if they offer this service... if not, your veteranarian can take care of it or recommend where the service is offered. Oh... and please spay and neuter your pets, all involved are happier in the long run!! Y'all take care, and thanks for the long read thru! Wendy : )

Please help me find out what happen to my 2 dogs. A golden Labrador Retriever Daisy, spayed, AKC registered and Cyrus, a Saint Bernard was wearing a blue collar, stolen by one of my neighbors for we think someone's dog rescue, or for some money. That were last seen on Morningside Drive in Paulding on June 23,2004. A Reward for there return, but no one knows nothing around here, it's a shame that someone has to steal someone pet. I have been searching since June 23,2004 when they went missing around 11:30 a.m. Pictures of these dogs are on petsville, lostpaws, terrificpets, paulding county animal control, some many rescues across the states, animalhome, and alot more. If someone has them, they probrably do not know they were stolen, no questions ask, they could just bring them back and drop them off if they do not want to talk.
