Acupuncture for Fido
As Americans turn more and more towards alternative medicines, the pet-owners in this group are also looking for alternatives to traditional medicines for our dogs (and other pets).

U.S. News & World Report points out that the demand for animal acupuncture is growing, especially for hard-to-treat ailments like arthritis and kidney problems. The American Veterinary Medical Association supports acupuncture for animals, but not all veterinarians are convinced. Some point out that there is a need for clinical trials to prove its worthiness.

The International Veterinary Acupuncture Society aims to provide the research and set professional standards for practicing this ancient Chinese technique. IVAS, a non-profit group, states it wants to integrate animal acupuncture and the practice of Western veterinary Science.
